We have talked about it at length with the layoff until the Cardinals game, how important the next five games are, both to the Jets, and to Rex Ryan. I believe he should be back, but how they perform may end up dictating whether or not he is back for 2013. Rex had better get it going with this team, and fast. How does he feel about his ability to make things better?

I know how to get it going. My answer is a truthful answer. We have to get back. We have to improve ourselves. We have to go back and it’s through hard work. That’s how you get it done. If it was just a magic deal, then yeah I’d search and say this is the magic play, but it’s not. I’ve been around this game for too long. I know how you pick yourself up and that’s believing in each other and getting after it. It’s (about) working hard, and it will pay off for you in the end. There’s no shortcut to success. You have to work and for us to do that, that’s what we’re going to do to get back. I do see improvements in some areas of this team. It might be hard to see from the outside, but I see it here. That’s why I’m confident we’ll finish strong these last five games.

For his sake, I hope he is right.
