New York Jets vs New England Patriots – Quick Hits

-The New YorkJets (4-7) came into today’s game vs the Patriots (8-3) with a bit of confidence after a big win over the St Louis Rams last week and it took about ONE half of football vs this Pats team for the Jets to have ALL of what little confidence that had coming into the game to be snatched out of them.  The Jets embarrassed themselves on national TV on a holiday IN FRONT KIDS and probably small kittens and puppies this Thanksgiving Thursday.   The Patriots capitalized on the Jets turnovers (5 total turnovers for the game) with a second-quarter scoring HOLIDAY FESTIVE that started with a fumble by QB Mark Sanchez on the Jets 31 yard line that was picked up and returned by NE Safety Steve Gregory for a TD.  This  of course was right after Brady found RB Shane Vereen for a 83 yard TD pass to beginning the onslaught and right BEFORE KR McKnight FUMBLED the kickoff only to see Julian Edelman return the 22 yard fumble recovery for a TD.  It was THAT kind of night for the Jets,  a night that saw any and everything that possibly could go wrong, DID go wrong and it is the story of their miserable season thus far and there’s seemingly NO way ANYONE’S outside a few select players, JOB is SAFE right now.

Mark Sanchez had 2 first half turnovers that put the Jets in too deep a hole for them to climb out.

-The Patriots defeated the Jets 49-19 in a lopsided victory.  Tom Brady had another masterful performance at Metlife stadium going 16/26, 304 yards and 3 TDs with a QBR of 140.5, the annual Metlife Clinic by way of Tom Brady just keeps chugging along.

-Mark Sanchez, who finished 26/36 for 301 yards 1TD and 1 ints had 2 turnovers and looked completely lethargic and pretty much every time Sanchez drops back right now, Jets fans are expecting a turnover, I’m 100% sure of it.  There were consistent yet hollow chants for Tim Tebow all night but Tebow was reportedly suffering from sore ribs and was unable to play no matter what.

-The playcalling from OC Tony Sparano was ineffective and bland, he practically ran the SAME Shonn Greene running play on 4th and short all game and the Vince Wilfork and the Patriots snuffed it out everytime, tells you everything you need to know about that.  The Jets defense once again, showed its propensity to let up the big play but to be fair, they once again received no help from the Jets offense.  The Jets, who are finding new and more embarrassing ways to lose in the SAME fashion every other week (if that makes any sense) were utterly embarrassed all night by the Patriots and it seems changes may be in order for this Jets team sooner rather than later.

-Next up, the Arizona Cardinals visit Metlife Stadium and the Jets will try to begin the final season push for RESPECT and RESPECT alone, seeing as though they are pretty finished with anything meaningless at this point.

-WR Clyde Gates and DT Muhammad Wilkerson both suffered injuries and their status is uncertain at this time.
