Earlier today, the Jets announced two roster moves today, one on each side of the ball.

The Jets announced that they have released LB Marcus Dowtin. Known as “the Hybrid”, Dowtin was activated off of the practice squad last month, and played little on defense, but had four tackles on special teams. The timing is interesting, as Dowtin was deactivated for the Rams game, and didn’t travel with the team. However, he wasn’t injured, so in my opinion, him coming back, even on the practice squad, is questionable.

They also announced the releaase of WR Jason Hill. He has been through the revolving door a couple of times, being signed, released, and signed again. In three games with the team Hill recorded 2 catches for 15 yards and 1 TD. He hasn’t played much, other than the Colts game, so no real surprise there. The surprise is that the Jets have not, as of yet, announced any corresponding roster moves, so that leaves them with 50 players on the active roster.

I am sure something is coming, we will find out soon enough.
