In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, several Jets players are doing their part to help out. This afternoon at 3:30 PM, Bart Scott, Aaron Maybin, Garrett McIntyre, Yeremiah Bell and Lex Hilliard are teaming up with the Food Bank of New York City to feed 600+ NYC residents. At the Food Bank For New York City’s Community Kitchen & Food Pantry of W. Harlem, located at 252 West 116th Street, Manhattan, the players will be unloading over 100 turkeys and feeding over 600 New Yorkers that were affected by the storm.

Food Bank For New York City has had trucks on the road since the storm hit to deliver critical food and water to New Yorkers in desperate need. The Food Bank’s Community Kitchen remained open during the storm and continues to serve hot meals and provide take-home meals to hungry New Yorkers. The NY Jets are calling for all New Yorkers to help their neighbors in need.

Despite the fact that it took the team quite a while to make a monetary donation, it’s great to see the team coming together to help locally where they can.
