The Jets are hitting the practice field for the first time since Hurricane Sandy, and with it, we have the lingering injuries to report on this morning.

Per coach Rex Ryan, three guys will not practice, Kenrick Ellis, Bart Scott, and Joe McKnight. I am sure we were all hoping that McKnight and Scott to be ready following the bye. OK, some not so much on Scott, but certainly McKnight. McKnight has been bothered by a high-ankle sprain suffered on his long run against the Indianapolis Colts. He fought through it the following week, but tweaked it during the game against the Dolphins. He was hoping to be ready to go after the bye, but apparently, not quite yet. Rex is hopeful that all three of these guys will be able to play on Sunday.

In other news, Rex says they have plans for the two open roster spots, but won’t get into specifics. The Jets did have RB John Griffin in for a workout today, a guy they had in during the preseason. That could be something to watch for.
