With the trade deadline approaching(Thursday at 4 PM), the Jets have not made any trades, yet, but they did free up some room with a couple of moves.

The Jets announced today that they released RB Jonathan Grimes, and DT Daniel Muir. Neither of them have played very often at all, the only one we saw at all was Jonathan Grimes. After being signed from the practice squad of the Houston Texans, Grimes carried the ball twice for the Jets for 6 yards, and added 2 receptions for 7 yards. I don’t know that we heard Daniel Muir’s name called at any point, so these are not significant releases by any means.

But the timing of it makes you wonder, does Mike Tannenbaum have something up his sleeve? Everyone has been underwhelmed so far with his performance to date in 2012, so, is this the moment where it changes? He’s got til 4 PM on Thursday afternoon to make something happen.

We will all be watching.
