Clyde Gates Performs Well Against His Old Team

First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone affected by Hurricane Sandy. If you are spending a few minutes to read one of our articles, we thank you for choosing us as a companion to divert your attention for just a few minutes.

Now, back to the Jets.

There weren’t a lot of positives to take out of last Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. The team was not prepared, and seemed to have no fight in it, which is uncharacteristic of a Rex Ryan led team. However, one guy that was ready to go with bells on was wide receiver Clyde Gates. He had only one ball thrown to him in the first matchup, and was pumped to go on Sunday, and he played well. He caught 7 passes for 82 yards.

“I felt good, man,” Gates said. “I was just going out there playing the game and doing what I was supposed to do when I was asked to. I felt real good about it.”

He also filled in for Joe McKnight on kickoff returns, and returned 2 for 63 yards, including a 47 yarder.

“The guys blocked real well up front, so I just did my part,” Gates said of the return. “I hit the hole and the guys held their blocks and I just tried to make a play.”

Make plays he did. At least somebody did.
