Once again, the Jets are working to make a difference in the local community.
This afternoon, several Jets players will be teaming up with members of the New Jersey National Guard, along with 40 kids from the Boys and Girls Club of Newark to finish up a “Fitness Zone”, a public fitness circuit with 11 work zones. This is happening as part of the NFL’s 14th annual Hometown Huddle, an NFL-wide day of service with United Ways across the nation. Two United Ways – United Way of Northern New Jersey and United Way of Essex and West Hudson – partnered with The Trust for Public Land to bring this project to the newly redeveloped Jesse Allen Park.
The Jets and the National Guard will finish construction with the kids, and demonstrate exercises for the kids, while they talk about the lifelong benefits of exercise.
