New York Jets: Earning Their Wings

The Jets endured a heartbreaker today, losing to the Patriots 29-26 in OT. The Jets gave it all they had, but the Patriots in the end were just a bit better. So, who earned their wings today?

JEREMY KERLEY-Jeremy Kerley is emerging as a key weapon for the Jets and Mark Sanchez. Kerley performed like a number one wide receiver today, with 7 catches for 120 yards. He was running free through the Patriots secondary today.

DUSTIN KELLER-Welcome back to Dustin Keller. Keller finally looked at full speed today, returning to Mark Sanchez’s safety valve status, recording 7 catches for 93 yards and 1 TD. It’s good to see Dustin back on the field and performing well in this, his contract year.

THE JETS DEFENSE-Nothing was spectacular by any player, but the defense kept them in the football game all day. The Jets had a chance to win, and the defense gave them that chance. They kept Brady under 300 yards passing, and at times he looked confused. Good job, for the most part, by the Jets defense, so they all earned wings this week.

JOE MCKNIGHT-Joe McKnight has come a long way from the rookie we saw during “Hard Knocks”. He went out there today with a high ankle sprain, and still averaged 29 yards per kickoff return, as well as running the ball 7 times for 23 yards.
