Haltime Update: Jets Down 16-10 in New England

It was a sloppy first half by the Jets, but they are still in the football game, only down 16-10 at halftime.

The Jets had an impressive first drive of the game, taking the opening kick 11 plays on 76 yards, ending in a Shonn Greene 1 yard TD run. Then things got sloppy, as they allowed a 104 yard kickoff return by Devin McCourty to tie the game, and then a Rob Gronkowski TD pass put the Patriots 14-7. A safety made the score 16-7.

Nick Folk kicked a field goal at the end of the half to make the score 16-10. The Jets will get the ball to start the second half.

The half was marred by missed opportunities, as Mark Sanchez threw an INT that was underthrown, and late to Stephen Hill that would have been a touchdown. With 84 yards between Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez, the Jets are going to need to do a better job defending over the middle in the second half.

It’s still close, so let’s go Jets.
