A big game is almost here, and the Jets might have one of their explosive playmakers after all.

Rex Ryan announced from Jets headquarters today that running back Joe McKnight is going to be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots. He suffered a high ankle sprain on Sunday against the Colts, during his 61 yard run. We have all see how high ankle sprains have a tendency to linger and trouble guys for a long time, but despite that, McKnight might be able to go on Sunday.

It will be a big boost to the Jets if he can go, on both offense and in the return game. We all have seen how explosive he can be in the return game, and he broke out a bit Sunday with 71 yards rushing. The Patriots have a tough time defending against running backs catching passes out of the backfield as well, so McKnight could see a role in that part of the offense as well.
