Tim Tebow Could See Time at Running Back on Sunday

Well, Tim Tebow’s legions of fans might get to see him in a different role on Sunday, running back.

The Jets are going into Sunday very thin at the running back position. Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight are both banged up, and we don’t know if they are going to play on Sunday. Rex has not made it official, but word is that the both will be out on Sunday, leaving it to Shonn Greene, Jonathan Grimes, and Lex Hilliard.

With his ability to run with the football successfully, many have felt that Tim Tebow should get time at the running back position. With the depth chart so thin, he may get that chance. Head coach Rex Ryan was asked today if Tim might be used at running back if they are thin, and he would not say no.

He is built for the position, and is quick through the holes, so it would be a good use of Tebow’s talents. Is Rex throwing this out there as a decoy, or might it happen? I guess we will find out in a few days.
