For the first time since the unfortunate incident pictured to the right, Darrelle Revis met with the media, talking about the team, his surgery, and the recovery process.
According to Darrelle, his surgery to repair his ACL is scheduled for tomorrow morning, and he will be able to begin jogging in 12-16 weeks. That is a great sign for the Jets, as that only puts us in Jan-Feb, more than enough time for him to rehab and be ready for training camp. Interestingly enough, Darrelle will be filming his rehab to show in a documentary film.
Revis firmly believes that he will return to the dominant player he once was, but understands that the team needs to see it first. He won’t even talk about his contract until he has shown his employers that he is the same Darrelle Revis that he was in the past. This is also big news for the Jets, because the last thing they are going to need heading into next year is another high profile contract dispute. Darrelle gets that, and understands that the team needs to see him healthy before they will agree to a long extension.
Great to hear from Darrelle Revis today.
