Bilal Powell with Dislocated Shoulder, McKnight a High Ankle Sprain

It turns out that the running game explosion was not without casualties for the New York Jets.

Sources are reporting this afternoon that Bilal Powell has dislocated his right shoulder, and will miss the game next week against the New England Patriots. Powell was being worked into the rotation along with McKnight and Greene, so this will be a loss for the Jets.

Also being reported at this hour is that Joe McKnight, who injured his ankle on his 61 yard run, has a high ankle sprain. The Jets have not offically ruled him out for the Patriots game yet, but we have all seen how notoriously lingering high ankle sprains can be. It is unlikely that we will have Joe McKnight on Sunday either.

In the spirit of next man up, the recently signed Jonathan Grimes is going to get his chance on Sunday. Running back coach Anthony Lynn has told him that it his “his turn”, so we will get to see what he can do on Sunday. Will Mike Tannenbaum make a move? That remains to be seen.
