Coach Rex Ryan Will Not Rule Out Terrell Owens

The injuries are mounting up for the Jets. Another wide receiver was injured Monday night, when Clyde Gates came out of the game. We don’t know the length of time yet, but that is just another body on the M*A*S*H unit that is the Jets receving corp.

With that injury, the questions start to arise. Terrell Owens tweeted his interest in playing for the New York Jets, during the game on Monday night.  He declared himself, “ready, willing and able”.

Will the Jets take a chance on this guy? We know that ESPN is praying every day that they do. The mainstream media would like nothing more than to see this guy come into Florham Park. What did Rex have to say about it?

You never say never to anything. We’ll look at all options like we always do, but right now, we picked up Jason Hill. I know he had the big drop, obviously, on Tebow’s pass which was tremendous, but you have to catch that ball. He actually did some decent things on tape besides that, even had a couple of good blocks and things. Here’s a young guy that has a lot of speed (and) hopefully he can do some things. It’s unfortunate with Gates having that shoulder (injury), because he provides some of that speed on the outside. He seems like he was getting better each day on the practice field, so we’re encouraged by some of the things that he can do.

Is this the type of move that the Jets might make? We certainly have seen stranger things happen. We will find out soon enough.
