If the Jets defense is going to have any success going forward in 2012, especially against the pass, Antonio Cromartie is going to have to play up to Darrelle Revis. Antonio has had his lapses in concentration in the past that have burned him. For the Jets to salvage 2012, Cromartie has to be “Good Cro” for the rest of the season, and it starts Monday night, going u against Andre Johnson. The Jets have said that Cro will go up against Andre for most of the game. Here is what Cromartie had to say about Johnson:
He’s one of the best receivers in the game. Throughout his whole 10-year career, I think he’s averaged 90, 91, 92 yards a game, every single game. He’s a big, physical receiver that can get in and out of his breaks, (and can position his body to make the catch). He knows how to use his body very well. The biggest thing for me is just going in and playing my game, trying to be physical and just do the things I need to do.
Antonio is expecting a physical matchup, and he likes that:
Yeah, I love them. Playing against bigger receivers, it matches up very well for me. I can use my length and things like that. I’m really looking forward to it. This is my third time playing the Texans in my career and I’ve never faced up against Andre. This is my first time facing him, so I’m definitely looking forward to it.
I’m glad that Cromartie is pumped for the football game, as long as he concentrates the entire time, and the rest of the way. It will be bad if he does not.
