Many key Jets failed to practice on Thursday, including Stephen Hill, Dustin Keller, Bart Scott and Sione Pouha. It looks like Dustin Keller may miss his fourth straight game with a hamstring, the same injury that affected rookie wide receiver Stephen hill. Bart Scott and Sione Pouha failed to practice with toe and lower back issues respectively. Mark Sanchez must play mistake free football if he is going to succeed against the Houston defense without his two best receiving options on the field. Multiple defenders including Laron Landry and Eric smith were limited in practice while a numbers of other players including Mark Sanchez fully participated with minor injuries.
The Houston Texans also had notable players absent from Thursdays practice as running back Ben Tate and defender Quintin Demps did not participate. Other notable players were limited in practice as Andre Johnson is nursing a groin injury while Owen Daniels is suffering from an injured thigh. All-Pro running back Arian Foster fully participated with a hamstring injury.
Overall the Jets seem to be on the losing end of this injury report. In addition to losing both Darrelle Revis and Santonio Holmes, the Jets are suffering from a severely depleted receiving corps with the nagging injuries of Dustin Keller and Stephen Hill. If this duo misses another consecutive game other players such as Chaz Schillens and Jeremy Kerley will be asked to step up and help quarterback Mark Sanchez make plays down the field. While Houston play makers Andrea Johnson and Owen Daniels were limited they look to be solid locks to play on Monday night, and Matt Schaub has one of the best backs in the NFL should the receiver core struggle to produce.
