Update: Turner Waived to Make Room for Hilliard

Well, that was a quick return.

An update on Jets roster moves announced today. First, the Jets confirmed our earlier report that they have signed RB/FB Lex Hilliard.

The corresponding move has been announced, and it is not, as people thought it would be, John Conner. It turns out that the Jets released WR Patrick Turner. Turner had only been resigned this past week before the game against the 49ers. He didn’t make an impact on the game, and has been released again.

The Jets must be concerned with Conner’s hamstring, thus, they sign the insurance policy in Hilliard. It seems a bit curious, at least in this writer’s opinion, they signed more of a fullback than a running back, but we will see soon enough what the Jets have in mind.

In other news, the Jets brought WR Jordan White back to the practice squad. The Jets seventh round pick had spent the first four weeks on the practice squad before being released on September 28th, and now he is back. To make room, the Jets released DB Donnie Fletcher
