BREAKING: Santonio Holmes Likely Done for the Year

The news just goes from bad to worse for the New York Jets.

Being reported by Albert Breer of the NFL Network tonight, is that Santonio Holmes has a “Lisfranc” injury to his foot, which basically is about as serious as it can get for a foot injury. It has not been reported whether or not a fracture was discovered, as the Jets will have the final word from the doctors in the morning, but all things considered, it’s about a 99% chance that “Tone Time” will is finished for 2012.

We will get the official word from the Jets in the morning. Clearly, to find out that Patrick Turner has been released the same day that Santonio is out for the year, tells us all we need to know about how the Jets feel about Turner. The question is, what’s next? Does this get Jordan White his chance on the active roster? Maybe. Will the Jets go outside the organization for a receiver? We will find out soon.

As I said earlier, it’s always interesting in Florham Park.
