Sounds like the Jets front office saw what we saw out of Kyle Wilson.

The Jets have signed CB Aaron Berry, formerly of the Detroit Lions. Berry is in his third NFL season, last year he recorded 31 tackles while a member of the Lions, while adding 11 passes defended. Surely he will come in as the third cornerback, and one can assume that he will push Kyle Wilson for time at the number 2 cornerback spot.

The black mark for Berry is that he has had his off the field problems. He was arrested twice this off season. He was suspended for 3 games this offseason for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy, although since he hasn’t played this season, it appears that Berry will avoid the suspension. He has clearly shown to be a bit troubled.

The word is that the Jets locker room is a better place to be these days than it used to be. This is a good sign, hopefully the locker room can be a good influence on Berry, and he can tighten up the secondary. If not, this won’t be a long marriage.
