Antonio Cromartie: "We Played OK"

Sometimes I wonder what planet the self proclaimed second best wide receiver, and best cornerback after Darrelle Revis, is on.

The defense was one of the many problems that the Jets have to fix, following the 34-0 blowout yesterday afternoon. They couldn’t tackle, and they didn’t spend too much time in Alex Smith’s face. It was embarrassing.

But, if you ask Antonio Cromartie, it wasn’t that bad. Take a look:

I thought we played ok. (It was) not to the Jets standards. I think the biggest thing for us is we just have to make sure when we make the tackle, we need to make the tackle. I think we had too many yards after contact especially in the first half. I think the biggest thing for us is we have to get back to the basics and do what we know (how) to do. Right now we’re sitting at 2-2 on the season and we have a big game coming up on Monday night.

Really Antonio? You played OK? Compared to what? You lost 34-0, there is no way on this planet to give that any type of an “OK” evaluation. Terrible would work. Awful would be an accurate description. Pathetic would be a good word.

But OK? Not so much. Come back to us Antonio.
