New York Jets: Earning Their Wings

There isn’t much to be set about that….I guess we will call it a football game this afternoon at MetLife Stadium. The Jets were awful at the beginning, and remained awful from the opening kickoff until the final gun. The offense got nothing going at all, and the defense gave up over 200 yards on the ground. If you saw the press conference right after the game, Rex Ryan was clearly enraged, and with good reason. The Jets looked bad.

It was quite difficult to find someone on the roster to give out wings too. OK, it was nearly impossible. But, I was able to find one guy. I kind of wish this guy was not on the field enough to earn his wings, but he was. Wings go out today to:

ROBERT MALONE

He did a brilliant job punting the football. He pinned the 49ers deep in their own territory multiple times, had wonderful hangtime on his punts as well. You can’t put a blocked punt on the punter, he doesn’t block on the line. Malone’s hangtime was so good, that it only allowed a total of 10 return yards. Excellent job.

I sure hope this article can be longer next week.
