The Jets announced a practice squad move late this afternoon.

The Jets signed DB Darrin Wells to the practice squad. He was previously a member of the Atlanta Falcons last year, playing in 5 games, recording 2 passes defended and 1 INT.

The surprise was the release that the Jets made. The Jets announced that they have parted ways with 7th round pick, WR Jordan White. After leading the nation in receptions last season at Western Michigan, White performed well in the preseason, with 5 catches for 57 yards. White showed good hands, and was showing a great deal of potential at being an impact receiver down the line.

The Jets were obviously looking for help at cornerback, but the surprise is not making a move to the active roster if they wanted help. Why bring a guy in, at a position that just had a major injury, if they aren’t on the active roster?

Oh well, such is life as a Jets fan with Mike Tannenbaum these days.
