We have a couple of updates on the injury front. A full report coming later, but there are a couple of highlights on the back of Rex Ryan’s mid-day press conference.
The first is on Stephen Hill. Stephen Hill came up lame with a hamstring injury during last week’s game against the Dolphins. He did not practice yesterday, and is not expected to practice today either. Coach Ryan did all but rule him out for Sunday’s game against the 49ers. If, in fact, Hill doesn’t play, that means more playing time for Chaz Schilens and the newly reacquired Patrick Turner.
The better news is on Mark Sanchez’s favorite security blanket, Dustin Keller. Ryan announced today that Keller, who has missed the past two games with his hamstring injury, is expected to play on Sunday. Ryan said he is looking forward to the idea of getting Keller and Cumberland out on the field together. Keller’s return comes none to soon for Sanchez, who has had it tough, especially in the early going, getting the passing game untracked. His favorite target will certainly be a welcome face in the huddle.
