BREAKING: Darelle Revis Torn ACL, Done for the Year

Take a look at the last picture of Darrelle Revis for 2012 folks.

Moments ago, a very somber and beaten down Rex Ryan announced to the Jets media that Darrelle Revis does indeed have a torn ACL, and it will require surgery. He also called it “a significant injury”. Although he has stated he wants to talk to Darrelle before moving him to IR, we won’t see him again in 2012.

This puts the Jets fully in “next man up” mode. No team is going to wait for the Jets without their star player. Cromartie will have to concentrate on every play now, no gaffs. Kyle Wilson has to show the Jets why he was a first round draft pick, period. No more 20 yard cushions on 3rd and 5 plays. Ellis Lankster will have to step up and get the job done.

It’s terrible, but life has to go on. If this team is going to get where it wants to go, they have to show that they can step up.

But, certainly a sobering day in Jets land.
