New York Jets: Earning Their Wings

Starting this week, we are giving out our players of the day for each Jets game. But, instead of game balls, they are earning their wings. So, here are the Jets that earned their wings this week:

SANTONIO HOLMES: With 9 catches for 147 yards, Santonio stepped up and played like the number one wide receiver that the Jets are paying him to be. He talked during the week about how bad the Dolphins secondary, and he let his performance talk today. He gets the first award.

JEREMY KERLEY: Jeremy earned his wings this week, by again showing that he is a clutch player, making big plays in the slot. His 66 yard catch was huge, setting the Jets up for points. The TD was larger, putting the Jets ahead late in the fourth quarter. He is a guy that earned his wings today, and will do so many times in the future.

LARON LANDRY: LaRon earned his wings when he recorded the first pick six of his career. Congratulations to LaRon, you have earned your first wings as well.

DAVID HARRIS: The most consistent tackler earns his first wings by being the best tackler for the Jets on the day, with 8.5 tackles for the game.

Tune in next week to see which Jets earn their wings.
