BREAKING: Darrelle Revis Cleared for Contact

Guess who passed his tests?

Darrelle Revis has been cleared for contact, as announced by Jets coach Rex Ryan during his morning press conference. Prior to today, he had only been cleared for non-contact practice, which Darrelle had been participating in for the last few days. But today, Revis is officially a full go.

This obviously is a big step in Revis being available for the game against Miami on Sunday. The Dolphins’ receivers aren’t particularly scary, but sometimes, our coverage down the field is. We talked yesterday about the Cromartie TD yesterday, where he was looking up in the clouds. Cromartie can play, but a play that bad does not happen if Revis is down there.

No matter who this team is going up against, we need Darrelle Revis on the field, if he is healthy. Rex will not commit at this point to whether or not Revis will play, still saying he will lean on the doctors. Obviously, this is an excellent step to having Revis on the field.
