It looks like two guys on the defensive side of the football for the New York Jets.

Head coach Rex Ryan announced today that Sione Pouha and Eric Smith will not play on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. Rex expects that both will be ready to go next week against the Steelers.

Eric Smith was not expected to play with his hip and knee injuries. Sione Pouha was working to get ready to play after his preseason back injury, but just wasn’t ready. Pouha’s loss might not be that severe, as he wouldn’t play a lot anyway with the Bills running the spread offense.

In other injury news, after practicing today, Rex Ryan has confirmed that Dustin Keller will play on Sunday, although he stated that Keller might be limited.

As far as other notable comments from Rex’s press conference, he actually wouldn’t comment about Mike Tannenbaum’s assertion regarding the Wildcat and Mark Sanchez’s snaps. Earlier, Mike stated that Mark Sanchez will take 80-90% of the team’s offensive snaps.
