In addition to the moves reported yesterday being officially announced, the Jets announced one more move this morning, this one involving the practice squad.

The Jets announced that they have released OLB Ricky Sapp from the practice squad, and resigned DB LeQuan Lewis to the squad to replace him.

It’s unfortunate to see Ricky Sapp go as he is a favorite amongst many fans, as well a guy that showed excellent potential. But, you know what they say, “You can’t make the club from the tub.” Sapp had difficulty staying on the field, as he suffered a high ankle sprain early in training camp. He unfortunately couldn’t get on the field, as those high ankle sprains are difficult to get past, and linger for weeks.

Ricky is likely to clear waivers, so I can imagine we will see him get another shot with the Jets in 2013. All Jets fans wish him the best of luck getting healthy and earning his shot in the National Football League.
