“He can run all these routes, he had good hands and he’s got 4.2 speed at 6-foot-5. He was the guy they all wanted, but honestly, when it came down to it, a wideout? Not my dream pick. But now that we have him, of course, I want to claim him: ‘Oh, that was my pick.’ But it really wasn’t.”

His hesitance probably had a lot to do with the fact that Hill didn’t catch very many passes in Georgia Tech’s option offense. Over his entire career, Hill caught 49 passes at Georgia Tech. However, he is an excellent run blocker, so he could be exactly the right pick for the Jets run heavy offense.

As we have talked a bit about Tannenbaum’s role in putting together this offense, it’s just interesting to note that the head coach didn’t want the guy. We will see who is right soon enough.
