Santonio Holmes Ignores the Doubters

We finally got to see Santonio Holmes on the field in week three of the preseason. He has been there, he saw the offense work, or not work, as the case may be. The struggles of the offense have been obvious this preseason, as are the many reporters, fans, etc. that are doubting the offense and it’s potential production. These sentiments don’t seem to bother Santonio. Here is what he had to say about it following yesterday’s practice:

I’m pretty sure there are, but that’s not one of my concerns (and) neither should it be (a concern for) anyone else that wears a green jersey. It’s not how many people (are) doubting us, it’s about what we believe in in this locker room, how hard we’re going to go out and compete every every week and how badly we want to win every ball game this season.

He knows, however, that the results are going to come with hard work:

Depending on how hard we work and how bad we want it, than I think all the details and results will show come game day. We have a lot to work on and at this point, all bets are off and it’s time is to get the ball rolling.

Santonio has it right on the head. The Jets don’t have to concern themselves with the outside world. They need to be concerned with getting better and performing well on Sundays. Let’s just hope those things happen.
