Update from the posting this morning. The Jets have announced that they have reduced the roster officially to 60. Here are the players they have officially said goodbye to:

WR Joseph Collins
LB Marcus Dowtin
T Robert Griffin
G Fred Koloto
C Matt Kroul
P Spencer Lanning
DB LeQuan Lewis
TE Tarren Lloyd
S D’Anton Lynn
DB Julian Posey
DE Jay Richardson
WR Eron Riley
LB Brett Roy
DT Martin Tevaseu
QB Matt Simms

Not many major surprises here. Like we said this morning, Matt Simms really wasn’t given an opportunity to make this team. A quarter and a half in preseason game 4 really isn’t a chance to make the team and show what you can do. Maybe he will make the practice squad.

The biggest surprise on the above list is Jay Richardson. He is a veteran that made his presence felt, getting into the offensive backfield in every game he played. Then again, the defensive line is a very deep position for the Jets, so making his way into it was difficult.

We will have the additional cuts as soon as they become available.
