Report: Jets Release Terrance Ganaway

Now if this is true, this is a curious move by the New York Jets.

The team has not confirmed this one yet, but a source is reporting that the Jets have released Terrance Ganaway, running back chosen in the 6th round from Baylor University. The source is reporting that the Jets plan to bring Ganaway back tomorrow, as part of the practice squad.

This comes as a bit of a surprise, as Ganaway showed some promise, especially last night, as a short yardage running back and a fullback. He also earned the honor of being the only Jet to score a touchdown this preseason, taking a 6 yard pass from Greg McElroy last night against the Philadelphia Eagles. Some reward for the only guy to score, huh?

Once confirmed we will report back to you again, as the deadline looms at 9 PM tonight. If this is correct, it makes you wonder if the Jets have something in the works at running back, as this will leave them with Shonn Greene, Joe McKnight, and Bilal Powell. They will need someone.

UPDATE

It has now been confirmed, Terrance Ganaway has indeed been released.
