Jets Make 19 Moves, More Coming After Practice

Mike Tannenbaum and coach Rex Ryan have been hard at work this morning at Jets headquarters in Florham Park, NJ. The roster must be down to the league maximum of 53 by tonight at 9 PM. The Jets have made 19 moves this morning, per Manish Mehta and Brian Costello, with more to come at the conclusion of practice. Here is what we have so far:

Robert Griffin
Matt Kroul
Tarren Lloyd
Joseph Collins
Eron Riley
Julian Posey
D’Anton Lynn
Jay Richardson
Martin Tevaseu
Spencer Lanning
LeQuan Lewis
Donnie Fletcher
Ricky Sapp
Paul Cornick
Damon Harrison
Marcus Dowtin
Matt Simms
Fred Koloto

Brett Roy

At the time of this post, there are conflicting reports on Damon Harrison and on Marcus Dowtin. According to Brian Costello of the Post, they have not been released yet, but according to Manish Mehta of the Daily News, they have.

Manish has tweeted in that some of these moves have been decided internally, and the players aren’t aware yet.

Not a bunch of real surprises here. A lot of folks were hoping that Sapp would make the team, but his training camp was slowed down severely by a high ankle sprain. The biggest suprise, based on performance, is Jay Richardson. Jay Richardson was all over the field, and looked like he had made his case to stick around.

We will keep you posted as more moves are made throughout the day.
