In the quest to get down to the final 53 man roster, the Jets have made another move, and it was on the defensive side of the ball.

Mike Tannenbaum and the Jets have announced that they have released CB Ryan Steed. Not a real big surprise here, as Steed was a long shot to make the team from the start. He came over in May as an undrafted rookie out of Furman University, and as a cornerback, he had a huge hill to climb to make this team. With Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie, Kyle Wilson, and Ellis Lankster having a big camp amongst other guys, cornerback was going to be a tough road to making the New York Jets anyway.

Steed was a well-liked player by the fans, especially those in the Twitter world that followed Ryan (@TheNobleSteed_1). Making the team or not, Ryan Steed is an all around good guy that will be missed here in New York, and we wish him luck going forward.
