UPDATE: Wayne Hunter Trade Will be Finalized Tomorrow

October 2, 2011; Baltimore, MD, USA; New York Jets tackle Wayne Hunter (78) against the Baltimore Ravens at M

It sounds like we don’t have to see that face anymore after all.

Earlier, we reported that the trade involving Wayne Hunter and the St. Louis Rams was not reported to the NFL by the 4 PM ET deadline, putting the trade on hold. More news has come out that I think Jets fans will be happy about.

Reports are that the trade will be official tomorrow. Wayne Hunter is still headed to St. Louis in return for Jason Smith. The issue with the trade getting held up is not clear, Rich Cimini tweeted his feeling that it might have somethign to do with Smith’s contract, but no official word on that.

No repeat of the Jeff Otah trade, with Otah failing his physical, to happen again. The trade is going to happen, it just won’t be official until tomorrow instead of today. Hopefully not too many of you got nervous about Wayne coming back, because tomorrow, we can officially say goodbye to their former starting tackle.

The way things have been going for Hunter, not a moment too soon either.
