Finally, a bit of good news for Mark Sanchez and the embattled New York Jets offense.

Head coach Rex Ryan announced after practice today that both wide receivers, Santonio Holmes, and Jeremy Kerley, will be active and see action on Sunday night against the Carolina Panthers. It was at one point, worried that particularly Holmes might miss the entire preseason, and Rex did say the Jets would be “cautious” with both of these guys. It sounds like they will have limited plays, but getting them out there will finally start the offense on the road to improving. We know the lack of success they have had so far.

Also, Patrick Turner will play, so Mark Sanchez will have a plethora of weapons at his disclosure as he plays into the third quarter on Sunday night.

On the defensive side of the ball, Mike DeVito left the practice field today with an injury, and coach Ryan said if there are any questions, he won’t play. The same can be said about Yeremiah Bell, who missed practice today with a knee injury, although tests revealed no structural damage.
