It was a mixed bag of injury updates from Rex Ryan this afternoon.

Three key guys are still out for the Jets, Sione Pouha, Chaz Schilens and Eric Smith. None of these guys, per coach Ryan, will play on Sunday night against the Panthers.

However, there could be some good news coming for the Jets and head coach Rex Ryan.

The Jets may have two of their key guys back. Wide receivers Santonio Holmes and Jeremy Kerley have made great progress, and according to coach Ryan, may be available to play on Sunday night. He won’t guarantee their availability at this time, but Holmes has been seen at practice, not wearing a hands off, no contact jersey.

This is only a good sign, the Jets need Santonio to get his reps desperately.
