We talk a lot about guys that insert their foot in their mouths with the Jets,(see Antonio Cromartie and Santonio Holmes). One guy we don’t get to hear from very much, other than about his contract, is Darrelle Revis. Revis talked to the media after yesterday’s final open practice in Cortland, and opened up about how good he feels about the secondary:
I think we can be very good. We have a lot of experience. This is my fourth year, this is Cro’s (Antonio Cromartie) third, this is Kyle’s (Wilson) third and then we have LaRon (Landry) back there and Yeremiah (Bell) with a lot of football experience. So, we’re excited, we’re very excited. We want to be a physical secondary and that’s how we want to play.
Darrelle is also feeling pretty good about a guy we haven’t seen a lot of yet, and that is Kyle Wilson:
I think he’s having the best camp. I think he is. I think he’s having the best camp he’s ever had. I told him that the other day. I told him to just keep on working and getting better and he’s been doing that. I mean, he’s been outstanding out there and you can see it. You can see the maturity in him out there.
Revis declared himself ready to go out and do what he does this season. As Jets fans, we can only hope that he is right on the money about the secondary. We are going to need them.
