Jets would be wise to snag Demps

Reports from are suggesting that the Jets are one of seven teams looking to pick up Jeff Demps.

The New York Jets have shown interest in Olympian Jeff Demps, league sources told’s Rich Cimini on Wednesday.

A team source told ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio that the Jets are one of seven teams interested in the running back, who was a teammate of Tim Tebow at Florida.

Jeff Demp out of Florida, is a quick RB that can add some depth to a position in need. I was surprised to see Jeff Demps go undrafted, but yet again, he chose to go to the Olympics. Who’d blame him?

Anyway, Demps agent is taking calls at the moment and I’m glad the Jets are one of those seven teams. Tannenbaum and company need to do everything they can to snag this guy.

When you take a look at what he’s capable of doing on the football field… it’s a no-brainer.

I would love to see the Jets aggressively pursue Demps. He’d add another dynamic threat to the backfield—a backfield that’s already complex and difficult to prepare for. Also, the Jets need to add another Running Back. It’s one of the weaker positions when it comes to depth.

Hopefully Mr. T. can pull something out of his sleeve!
