One of the Jets’ leaders is out for the remainder of the preseason.

DT Sione Pouha, Rex has announced, will sit for the remainder of the preseason with a continuing back problem. He is expected to be back in time for the opener against Buffalo.

Chaz Schilens is also not expected to play Saturday night with an ankle injury. Not a good sign at an already thin position. It’s also going to be hard for him to make the team. You can’t make the club from the tub as they say.

One guy will make his return Sat, but don’t all get excited at once. Wayne Hunter is expected to be back at RT on Saturday night.

I’ll bet the Giants linemen are excited.

In an update, Santonio Holmes may also miss the entire preseason with his ongoing rib problem. It’s tough for a quarterback to develop when his weapons are injured.

Such is life when you are Mark Sanchez
