2012 is set to be a comeback year for the New York Jets. They are working hard to put the memories of 2011 behind them. With that, has been the new version of Rex Ryan, both on the outside and the inside.
On the outside, he is very visually a new Rex Ryan losing over 100 pounds, and we congratulate him for that. But what is even more worth noting is how he has changed on the inside. Specifically, how he is doing his best to keep his prmise and not lose the team.
The Antonio Cromartie/Chaz Schilens situation is the prime example.
When he got word of the problem between the two players, Rex promised that he would “handle it”. Specifically, he addressed it at the very next team meeting:
He added: “I just took that time to say, ‘Hey look, sometimes we need to always be mindful of what’s in the best interests of our team.’ That’s something that was the message, and there was others.”

Alan has been a passionate Jets fan since 1985. Obviously, that means he is a glutton for punishment, as he has suffered through many Jets disappointments. He remembers Mark Gastineau's late hit in the 1986 AFC Divisional Playoff game like it was yesterday. There have been many more failures than successes, but through it all, Alan has remained true to the Gang Green. He has been blogging for the Jets on various websites for the past 5-6 years. He lives and breathes the NY Jets all year round, and is committed to bringing the Jets passion to "The Jet Press" on a daily basis.
