We all know that Tim Tebow’s role with the Jets is skewed by mystery, and will continue to be so for a while. We know a bit, but not much. But is there a role they haven’t talked about much that may come to light?

It’s a special teams role, to go along with being the personal punt protector. The Jets are talking about the idea of using Tim on kickoff coverage as well. Look at what assistant special teams coach Ben Kotwica told Manish Mehta:

“I think there might be some value there on kickoff returns,” assistant special teams coach Ben Kotwica told Manish. “It’s something that we’ve talked about. I don’t think there’s any option with Tim that we’ve taken off the table. So, that would be something that would be new to him as well. In what we’ve asked him to do as the personal protector (right now), he’s done an excellent job.”
