A lot of attention is given to guys on this Jets offensive line. Nick Mangold gets a lot of attention for the right reasons, and Wayne Hunter gets attention for unfortunate reasons.
However, there is one guy who has been a staple of this offensive line even longer than Nick Mangold. He has been a starter for the Jets since the days of Herman Edwards, and he is the focus of this week’s Sunday Morning Spotlight. Spotlight on offensive guard, Brandon Moore.
Brandon Moore was born June 30, 1980, in Gary, Indiana.
You may or may not know, interestingly enough in his journey to the Jets, he actually played a great deal of defensive end in high school and college. At West Side High School, he led the Northwest Conference with 15 sacks and 91 tackles, as well as leading his school to the Northwest Conference title in 1996. Brandon was an All-Conference selection on both offense and defense.
Turn the page and we will talk about his time at the University of Illinois.

Alan has been a passionate Jets fan since 1985. Obviously, that means he is a glutton for punishment, as he has suffered through many Jets disappointments. He remembers Mark Gastineau's late hit in the 1986 AFC Divisional Playoff game like it was yesterday. There have been many more failures than successes, but through it all, Alan has remained true to the Gang Green. He has been blogging for the Jets on various websites for the past 5-6 years. He lives and breathes the NY Jets all year round, and is committed to bringing the Jets passion to "The Jet Press" on a daily basis.
