Could Darrelle Revis’ recent decison have been influenced by another Pitt graduate?
Curtis Martin and Darrelle Revis grew up near each other in Pittsburgh, PA. They both went to the University of Pittsburgh. Curtis Martin was the best player on the New York Jets, and led by example. Maybe Darrelle is trying to do the same thing.
After dropping hints to the contrary, it appears that Darrelle Revis will be coming to training camp this week on time. Why?
Part of it was certainly business. He didn’t want to walk away from his $1 million bonus for reporting, or be fined for each day he holds out. He also didn’t want to precipitate his contract being extended for 3 years at a small per season rate due to a holdout deterrent clause in his deal.
