Why Oshiomogho Atogwe Would be a Good Fit for the New York Jets

The proof is in the pudding, as they say. Over seven years in the league, Atogwe has recorded 44 passes defended, and 25 INTs, 1 returned for a TD. Six years for Eric Smith, 5 INTs and 21 passes defended. There isn’t even a question as to who holds the edge in defending the pass.

He has had some success against the tight ends of the league. In 2010, for example, while with the Rams, he held Antonio Gates to 2 catches for 12 yards. That same year, he held Tony Gonzalez to 4 catches for 46 yards.

Last year, the year of the tight end, only one tight end recorded 100 yards receiving against the Redskins. Granted, that guy was Rob Gronkowski, but hey, he did that to everybody.

Finally, he has played with Laron Landry before. Get them on the field together, and they will already feel comfortable with each other. Right there, already on field chemistry.

Whether he is teamed with Landry or not, Atogwe will help. Passing downs especially, he can cover the middle of the field with anybody.

Go get this guy now.
