Now that the Dolphins have officially aceepted an appearance on the show “Hard Knocks”, we know for sure we won’t see cameras like the one pictured to the right flying over Jets practices this summer.
Today, some Jets took a look back at their time on the show. First a quote from Nick Mangold:
“It was fine,” center Nick Mangold said. “To me I thought the neatest was seeing how much film they had, how they took a day and a half to pare it all down and put it into an hour form. That was impressive. Other than that, we’ve got camera around here as you can see. It wasn’t that big a deal.”
Bart Scott felt the affect on the show as far as recruitment is concerned:
“For us it was a tool that was used to recruit other free agents to let them know this was a good place to come,” Scott said. “You saw that effect taking hold when people said ‘I would love to play for Rex Ryan’ after Hard Knocks,” Scott said.

Alan has been a passionate Jets fan since 1985. Obviously, that means he is a glutton for punishment, as he has suffered through many Jets disappointments. He remembers Mark Gastineau's late hit in the 1986 AFC Divisional Playoff game like it was yesterday. There have been many more failures than successes, but through it all, Alan has remained true to the Gang Green. He has been blogging for the Jets on various websites for the past 5-6 years. He lives and breathes the NY Jets all year round, and is committed to bringing the Jets passion to "The Jet Press" on a daily basis.
