Talk about dedication to his job!
Nick Mangold was given the opportunity to miss some time at training camp this summer to watch his sister Holley compete as a weightlfter in the Olympics. His decision? To stay in training camp.
“God bless Rex because he did offer it to me, but I don’t think I can leave my guys in the middle of training camp,” Mangold told the NFL Network. “But we’ll figure out a way to watch and I’m real excited and real proud for her. Somehow, some way I’ll watch it, but I don’t know if I can do the jump over the pond in the middle of training camp.” (courtesy of the NY Post)
I have to hand it to him for the dedication. I am sure most players would love time off, and taken it without having to be asked twice. Not Nick, though.
