Take a look at this article from Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, talking about the great character of new offensive coordinator Tony Sparano, both in life, and with the New York Jets:

The more I read and learn about Tony Sparano, the more I can’t help but like the guy. A lot. Both in the way he interacts with family, and players, current or former, he really is a quality guy. Everyone around him seems to love him, and when you feel that way about a coach, you are going to play harder for him.

Will it translate onto the field? Still obviously remains to be seen. But there is something to be said about being a good person too, and clearly Tony Sparano falls under that category.
