This morning, I wanted to take a look at the upcoming kicking competition. The incumbent, Nick Folk, against the veteran competition, Josh Brown. Specifically, I wanted to take a look statisically, and do a “tale of the tape”. Do a little of side by side statistical comparison so you can be the judge:

FGS: Nick Folk: 113-145 77.9%; Josh Brown: 220-272 80.9%

Not going to look at kickoff stats for the career since Brown has been around a bit longer.

2011 STATS

FGS: Nick Folk: 19-25 76%; Josh Brown: 21-28 75%

KICKOFFS: Nick Folk: 81 Kickoffs-17 Touchbacks; Josh Brown: 54 Kickoffs-15 Touchbacks

Remarkably similar stats, more similar than I thought they were going to be. It should be an interesting competition this summer.
